The village centre of Cocumont is at the top of a hill, dominating the valley of the Garonne with all-round views of the surrounding countryside.

Wherever one walks in the commune one cannot but admire the stony hillsides covered with rows of well-aligned vines, the typical east-facing houses of the Marmande region with their broad roofs, the numerous low-lying areas full of freshness and sheltering streams running through narrow valleys, the multitude of oak woods, sometimes centuries old and well-suited to mushrooms as well as to palombières (for hunting the migrating pigeons or palombes), the misty dawns and the flaming sunsets, and even a geological curiosity: the roots of plants covered in a layer of iron oxide a centimetre thick.
